    Freemasonry was formally established in South Bend in 1842, when on May 24 of that year, St Joseph Lodge No.45 was chartered. There were 13 members. South Bend then had a population of about 500. Since that time the city has grown to a population of 100,000, and Masonry has grown in equal proportion.

Oktoberfest Celebration

Join us on October 28, 2017 at the South Bend Scottish Rite Cathedral for our traditional Oktoberfest Celebration.
Doors open at 6:00 PM and the authentic German buffet will be served from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. On the menu we will have: Soft pretzels, Brats, spaetzle with gravy, red cabbage, Stroganoff, apple and cherry strudel. Beer and other beverages will be served. A glass beer stain to keep as a memory of this great event.
The celebration is open to family and friends. Tickets are $25.00 per person. Reservations are required by October 20 and they can be made here.
